MEDICAL MISSION TRIPS
Medical missions are at the heart of what we do here at The Great Commission. Over the 14 years, we have treated over 40,000 patients and have been witnesses to thousands of professions of faith in Christ.
Each year, a team of 30-45 volunteers travels across the globe to spend a week serving the local communities in free medical clinics through The Great Commission Inc. Our teams consist of a variety of medical and non-medical volunteers, including physicians, dentists, PAs, NPs, nurses, and more. The make-up of each team is unique but together, with a common goal and fueled by the love of Christ, our teams are successful each year in seeing over 1,700 patients a day.
WHERE WE GO
Our team’s goal is to provide free medical care to the uninsured and underserved. We go where the need is the greatest, seeking to give care for the most vulnerable: the poor, the disabled, the bereaved, the weak, and the sick. We partner with locals to seek out communities most in need.

HOW IT WORKS
Patients are greeted at our check-in table before proceeding to go through triage. At the very center of our mission is proclaiming the Gospel, which is why we have a specific stop for all patients that go throughout clinic to hear about the good news that is Jesus Christ. Our pastors present the Gospel to each group of adults while our Children’s Ministry team puts on a puppet show and Gospel presentation to the little ones, giving them fun and essential gifts such as toys, underwear, school supplies, and more. Our team of medical professionals and volunteers is specially trained to treat a wide range of needs that come in our clinic. Whether it’s general medicine, pediatrics, physical therapy, or glasses that our patients are seeking, our team works to treat their needs with their extensive medical knowledge and unique God-given skills and gists. We also have an in-house pharmacy set up with a multitude of medicines to help treat our patients.
